Google is enhancing AI Mode, its conversational Search experience for complex queries, by adding Personal Intelligence. The feature enables AI Mode to deliver more relevant responses by optionally drawing on data from Gmail and Google Photos.

Personal Intelligence was first introduced in the Gemini app and connects insights across Google services, including Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube history. It is now rolling out to AI Mode for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers. The feature can be toggled on or off at any point.

With this update, AI Mode offers more than basic recommendations and provides context-aware assistance based on users’ real-life plans and preferences. In shopping scenarios, AI Mode can consider preferred brands, purchase behavior, and travel details to recommend suitable items for the destination and season.

Google states that AI Mode does not train directly on the contents of Gmail inboxes or Google Photos libraries. Instead, training is limited to user prompts and the system’s generated responses, highlighting the company’s focus on personalization with privacy safeguards.
